Dr. Joy Thurmon has been studying the piano since the age of three. She is an experienced Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry.

Her expertise includes Piano Performance, Collaborative Piano, Piano Pedagogy, Music Psychology, Music History, Music Theory, and Public Speaking. She holds a Doctorate of Music (D.M.) in piano performance with a Certificate of College Teaching from Florida State University.

Currently serving as the VP of Membership of the Mid-State Music Teachers Association (MSMTA) and affiliated with the Florida State Music Teachers Association (FSMTA), Dr. Thurmon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her well-rounded teaching.
